It’s the little touches that turn a regular B&B into 5 star, luxury accommodation. At Fauhope we like to go out of our way to provide our guests with those special little extras that make their stay memorable.
EXCLUSIVE USE OF PRIVATE GOLF COURSE
Fauhope has access to a nearby private 9 Hole championship-designed golf course complete with golf buggies. The golf course nestles near the foot of the impressive Eildon Hills, a 5 minute drive from Fauhope. Access to this unique facility is subject to weather and availability. Please enquire when booking if you are interested in a round or two.
WELL BEHAVED DOGS ACCEPTED
We are happy to cater for your four-legged friends. All we ask is that they are not left in the bedrooms unattended, they keep off the furniture and that you pick up after your dog (poop bags can be provided). We can supply dog biscuits, pig’s ear treats and some of the best drinking water a dog could have. There are no shortage of fabulous walks from the house and the local restaurant, Seasons in nearby Gattonside, is also dog-friendly!
SPECIAL OCCASIONS VENUE
If you’re looking for an intimate venue for a party or special occasion, our garden with huge lawn and stunning, uninterrupted views of the countryside including the Eildon Hills is perfect for that special occasion such as an intimate wedding reception. Marquees can be arranged and we would be happy to advise on catering and other event planning matters.
Our front lawn is also suitable for private helicopter landings, should that facility be required.
Looking for that little extra not mentioned above, just give us a call on 01896 823184 and we can discuss your requirements in more detail to see if we can oblige. For availability of accommodation, please see our booking and availability page.
WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY
“Fauhope House would be worth visiting as an attraction in itself; a perfect 1890s pocket Scottish baronial country house, terraced into the Tweed valley, with views across its own beautifully-gardened, pheasant-haunted grounds down to Melrose and across to the Eildons.”
Michael D, Stratford-upon-Avon (Tripadvisor)
“I returned to Fauhope House after 3 yrs absence. It was just as wonderful as before. So much to say: elegant, warm, flowery, artistic, cozy, stylish, friendly, appreciating, tasty, comforting, restful, inspiring, personal, relaxed, natural, helpful, clean, enriching, to say a few things. Yes, I will move in and do yard work for room and board. Didn’t want to leave.”
Robert T, Hartford, Connecticut (Tripadvisor)
“Breakfasts are delicious and bountiful—my husband is still raving about Sheila’s rhubarb and strawberry compote—and we loved getting back to our room after breakfast and finding it already made up and tidy.”
JRJT, Los Angeles (Tripadvisor)
“Our first night before setting off on St Cuthbert's Way towards Lindisfarne. Picked up in Melrose and immediately made to feel welcome. Great nearby restaurants, wonderful views and superb accommodation. Would recommend to anyone.”
Mike Lapsley, UK (Tripadvisor)
“We visited for a family birthday celebration and couldn't have been better pleased at how things turned out. All the bedrooms were great, the breakfasts superb, the gardens and the setting glorious and the friendliness of, and service provided by, the hosts wonderful. We'd love to come back.”
Roger C, Scotland (Tripadvisor)
“Fauhope House was a wonderful find for our short break in the Scottish borders. Ian and Sheila Robson are perfect hosts who have skilfully created a beautiful country house in a tranquil idyllic setting.”
T Coburn, Durham (Tripadvisor)

“Outstanding accommodation. The place is beautifully presented with floral displays everywhere. The hosts are charming. The room was large with a lovely view and contained everything you could possibly need and more. The breakfast was lovely.”
